  • Dmitry Matvienko leads a performance of Johannes Brahms’ A German Requiem, one of the most significant works of the choral–symphonic repertoire. Brahms described it as “a human requiem”: music written not for the dead, but for the living. Moving between sorrow and hope, the music offers comfort and a message that reaches beyond religious boundaries. 🎶

For this special performance, Aarhus Symfoniorkester is joined by around 100 singers from four choirs across the Aarhus choral community, bringing together powerful choral forces for this remarkable score. 🎼👥
Experience the performance on 29 April at 7:30 pm at Symphony Hall, Aarhus Music Hall, with a second concert the following day at the same time.

  • Nicolò Foron made his debut with the @staatskapelledresden performing a work that traces the daily routine of Augustus the Strong: during the day, there is a stag hunt; in the evening, boisterous celebrations are held at Moritzburg Castle.

The composer Heinichen, who has largely been forgotten today, was a star celebrated throughout Europe at the time of his appointment to the Dresden court: he had made a name for himself in Venice, the musical metropolis of the time, was closely associated with Vivaldi, among others, and was regarded, alongside Handel and Hasse, as one of the three great Baroque composers whose names began with H.

  • Yutaka Sado conducts the Filarmonica TRT at the Teatro Regio Torino in Anton Bruckner’s monumental Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major.
Maestro Sado brings his profound sensitivity to Bruckner’s Fifth, a work that marks a return to the classical four-movement structure preceded by a solemn slow introduction.

Known for its architectural clarity, the symphony unfolds through a fascinating dialogue between intimate solo passages and powerful orchestral „tutti.“
